I learned today that playing Minecraft while listening to a podcast or something is pretty fun because it distracts me from the fact I'm playing it alone. It's like someone's on a call with me telling me about something while I play.
Sorry that I haven't updated this site in a bit. I've been having some computer issues recently, but they've mostly been dealt with!
I changed the linux distro I use. I used to use Linux Mint Cinnamon but now I use Arch with Gnome! There was a point where I tried to use Hyprland but it just went over my head too much.
Lots of people hate on the Gnome desktop environment, but honestly, one thing I love about it is that you press a button to see the dock. I like that it isn't clogging up space on my screen while I'm trying to do other things.
Anyway, I'm gonna have to start working on cards for people soon because there's a lot of birthdays this month in my family. Then in October it's gonna be my birthday which is honestly kinda scary. Time goes by so fast.
Also, at one point when I was dealing with computer problems, one of the only programs I could use was Vim, so I learned a little about how to use that. It was pretty fun, honestly. The boredom brought out some pretty good poetry. (Maybe one day I'll have the confidence to share some of it with y'all)

I'm an advocate for having fun doing things like art even if you're bad at it, but also it's okay to be into something even if you don't know everything about it. You can like music without understanding what genres are, you can like art without knowing the names of all the different art supplies, you can enjoy reading and not understand things like story structure.
It doesn't matter if most people who are into that interest know lots of things about it, the priority with hobbies and interests is having fun and if pressuring yourself to know everything about something is stressing you out then stop doing that. Remind yourself why you like that interest in the first place and go have a good time.
I'm trying to make an actual light mode for this site. It's pretty dumb looking in my opinion, so that's why I decided to have it be attached to a button instead of using media queries. I want the light mode users to see the dark version of my site first so they can at least see the mode that actually looks good before switching.
Hopefully it'll get better over time. I'm also trying to use local storage to make it so the button remembers what you set it to, but I'm not sure if it worked. I did so many updates to this site at once that it needs some time to catch up to everything, I think.
Here's a reminder that if a coping mechanism is healthy and is working for you, you shouldn't let anyone shame you out of it. I don't care if it's weird, go ahead and heal.
I started watching Monster High G3 and while I've only watched the first episode (both parts one and two) it's been so good so far! The 'twist' of Clawdeen being a monster didn't come as a surprise at all to me (probably both because of the girl's name and because I'm not the show's target demographic), but the reveal was still satisfying in its own way.
As an autistic person, Clawdeen's story of feeling out of place feels so relatable to me and that makes me even more excited to see where the story goes.
I managed to make the index page of this site more mobile friendly. It's not super mobile friendly yet, but it's to a point where it's not extremely annoying to navigate and read which is a plus.
Been trying to think of other things I could put on this site. Maybe I could add a page full of little javascript projects. I'm not sure what I really wanna add yet.

I know politicians are likely to never see my Triden (Joe Biden x Donald Trump) fanfiction (to be honest, it's more like foe-fiction), but writing it feels like a little 'screw off' to the meanies, so I like to write it anyway.

This site is definitely not done enough to be online yet, but I'm gonna start making posts for it anyway. This one is being made before I've even finished the layout for the blog page.
Also, I've been trying harder to get motivated and accomplish my goals lately. Or maybe I've just been in a better mood and my extra effort is pure luck, who knows. Whatever it is, I'm thankful for it! I'm really hoping I'll be able to work more on this site and do the other things I wanna do.
